About Beatline
The story
Beatline was born from a simple frustration: show laser software was stuck in the nineties. Painstaking timeline editing in seconds and milliseconds — while music has had measures, beats, and rhythm patterns figured out for centuries.
We decided to fix that. We wrote our own software. Then we started designing hardware to match. Then the hardware led to new ideas for shows. One thing leads to another when you're motivated by the result.
Based in Auckland, New Zealand, we work on events locally and around the world. Clubs, festivals, corporate activations, product launches, art galleries — we've done them all, and we're always looking for the next challenge.
We do laser, LED, kinetic light, and art installations. We design custom devices. We write open-source software. If it involves light performing with music, we want to be involved.
